Drive chains are among the motorcycle components subject to the highest stress. However, for many bikers, cleaning and maintaining them is one of the more unpopular chores of their passion. If the motorcycle chain has been neglected, you can almost guarantee that it won’t last more than 10,000 kilometers. Properly cared for, it can easily last twice as long. Even 50,000 kilometers and more are achievable with regular, correct cleaning and maintenance. Equipped with a three-sided “chain jaw”, the chain brush enables 360° deep cleaning from all sides in one go as it encloses the chain. “Dirt, oil deposits, mud and road dirt can be removed more thoroughly and faster than with a cloth,” says Kaiser. The brush is designed so that it can easily be placed over the chain while turning the rear wheel of the jacked-up bike. The longer bristles at the other end of the brush penetrate hard-to-reach places, including the pinions. Kaiser emphasizes: “Dirt particles act like emery paper and wear out the chain, sprockets and chain rings. Regular cleaning with our new brush extends the service life of chains.”
Given the motto is “it takes two to tango”, the brush is supplemented by the LIQUI MOLY chain spray guard. It enables the lubricant to be applied quickly and accurately. And it does so only where it needs to – on the chain. It is undesirable on tires and rims and can stick to chain and pinion boxes. “The chain spray guard is a simple tool of great use and a variable addition to your toolkit.
