British Talent Cup Gears Up For Thruxton With Surowiak Holding The CardsBritish Talent Cup: The second half of the season has arrived, with points and high stakes on the line at Round 5

Following an unforgettable trip to Brands Hatch, the R&G British Talent Cup roars back into life this weekend at Thruxton for Round 5 of the season. A further 50 points are up for grabs, with just five points separating Filip Surowiak (City Lifting Team) and Ryan Frost (Fibretec Honda by Mlav Racing) at the head of the championship fight.

Back at Brands, all eyes were on rookie sensation Ethan Sparks (Kovara Projects / RS Racing), who stunned the field with a double victory across the weekend. It was a massive haul of points, with Jack Dunabie (Kovara Projects / RS Racing), Surowiak and Harrison Mackay (Kovara Projects / RS Racing) also making podium appearances across the two races.

Frost failed to finish on the podium at Brands Hatch, managing two P5 results and collecting 22 points, which allowed Surowiak to reclaim the championship lead. However, the title fight isn’t just between Surowiak and Frost, with Sparks, Mackay and Dunabie now all within striking distance of the top spot. Peter Willis (WM Racing) is one to look for too, with the #99 sitting sixth in the standings after losing valuable points in Race 2 in Kent.

Thruxton’s 3.7km circuit is famous for springing a surprise, thanks to its fast corners and overtaking opportunities. Last year, wildcard Marco Morelli claimed victory in both races, while Frost and Surowiak took one podium each. Will it be their time to shine – or can a rookie steal the spotlight again? Tune in to find out!
