WorldSSP300: Loris Veneman returns to the WorldSSP300 field this weekend with the MTM Kawasaki Team.

The Dutch rider, last year’s championship runner-up, claimed his fourth career Superpole in the class with a new lap record of 1’50.890 to immediately remind the class of the speed he displayed so regularly last year.

For the third time in five rounds David Salvador (Team ProDina XCI) will start Race 1 from the middle of the front row. The Spanish rider was four tenths of a second slower than a Veneman to lead Carter Thompson (MTM Kawasaki) in an all Kawasaki front row.

Benat Fernandez, the championship leader, will start from the middle of the second row of the grid. The Team#109 Retro Traffic Kove rider was just over one second off the fastest time as he left it late to set his Superpole time.

P1 – Loris Veneman (MTM Kawasaki)
“Friday started perfectly with my teammate and I finishing first and second in Free Practice. This meant that we knew we were going to be strong for qualifying. My plan was to set a banker lap at the start and then check if I needed to push more. In the end I gave it everything and it feels great to be back at the front and to know I can still ride my bike the way I want. I’m really happy about that. I can’t wait for tomorrow’s race. My goal is to win, but I’m not the only one with that target, so I’ll have to fight hard and we’ll see what happens.”
