Italian Devis Bergamini secured pole position at the Yamaha R7 European Cup SuperFinale on Thursday, with Federico Iacoi in second and Ioannis Peristeras third as the action got underway during the final round of the 2025 FIM Endurance World Championship at the Bol d’Or, with the top eight riders separated by less than 0.8s in Qualifying.
The fourth edition of the Yamaha R7 European Cup SuperFinale kicked off on Thursday with a quick briefing, followed by a photoshoot for all of the riders. Then, the 29 competitors, representing 12 different countries, got their first taste of track action at the 5.777km Circuit Paul Ricard, which, for the Yamaha R7 European Cup SuperFinale, uses a chicane on the Mistral Straight, with a 20-minute Free Practice session.
Setting the early pace was former FIM R3 BLU CRU World Cup rider Peristeras, who ended Free Practice on top of the timesheets with a 2:18.378, ahead of Italian Iacoi, who has wildcarded in the FIM R3 BLU CRU World Cup, and Hodei Martinez Nunez from Spain.
After a break for lunch, it was then time for Qualifying. This time it was another former FIM R3 BLU CRU World Cup rider, Bergamini, who came out on top, setting a 2:18.589, ahead of Iacoi in second and Peristeras completing the front row. With the grid for both races settled, up next is Race 1 at 13:30 local time (CEST) on Friday at Circuit Paul Ricard, before Saturday’s Race 2 at 12:10.
