Cable Upgrades For Honda, Kawasaki And Yamaha Off-RoadersVenhill’s British-made cables for the Honda CRF, Kawasaki KX and Yamaha YZ and WR models feature the same rubber components as the originals

Venhill has added a range of throttle and starter cable upgrades for popular Honda, Kawasaki and Yamaha off-road models – giving riders an instant upgrade to competition-grade performance and reliability.

A popular upgrade with off-road competition riders since the 1970s, Venhill cables were originally developed by the company’s founder, who was frustrated by the poor quality of stock cables. They remain trusted at the highest level today; Venhill supplies teams like JM Honda Racing in MXGP, with rider feedback used to refine designs.

Developed and manufactured in Venhill’s UK factory, the new cables are carefully engineered to match OEM specifications, with the same bends, adjusters, dust caps and rubber components – making them a straightforward swap for the original parts.

All are built to Venhill’s Featherlight specification, featuring marine-grade stainless steel inner wire to minimise stretch and a PTFE (Teflon) liner to reduce friction. The result is a lighter action, smoother feel and reduced need for regular lubrication.

They also benefit from Venhill’s ‘Bird-caging’ process, which allows solder to penetrate the weave of the cable wire, creating a stronger bond with the nipple. This significantly increases strength and durability, reducing the risk of breakage under repeated stress – ideal for demanding off-road riding.

Like the rest of the Venhill range, all cables are made to order in the UK, with no long lead times. Extra length options are available to suit custom setups, and they can be finished in a choice of colours to complement personal taste or team liveries.

Fitments include:

  • Honda CRF models – including CRF150R, CRF250R and CRF450X
  • Kawasaki KX models – including KX250F and KX450F
  • Yamaha YZ and WR models – YZ250F, YZ250FX, WR250F, YZ450F, YZ450FX and WR450F

Starter cables retail for £17.82 and twin throttle cables for £45.53 (including VAT)

Find them and view the full fitment list on the Venhill website at www.venhill.co.uk.
