Motogp To Race In Buenos Aires From 2027MotoGP: The Grand Prix of Argentina will move venue when it returns, touching down in one of the world’s most iconic cities.

The Grand Prix of Argentina will have a new home from 2027: Buenos Aires. Work is underway to return to the Autodromo Oscar y Juan Galvez just outside the capital, ensuring fans in the country will only have a one-year gap before the most exciting sport on Earth is back in Argentina.

The Autodromo Oscar y Juan Gálvez, which will be fully renovated and track layout updated, already hosted MotoGP in the 60s, 80s and 90s, welcoming legends of the sport and staging some spectacular showdowns. The record Argentina crowds of recent editions can now look forward to even more stunning action as we return to race against the backdrop of its capital city, Buenos Aires.

Jorge Macri, Chief of Government of Buenos Aires: “We are consolidating our city’s sporting leadership on a global level. The most important category of motorcycle racing returns to Gálvez. We have hosted ten Grands Prix, and almost 30 years later, we will once again be among the world’s leading circuits, like Barcelona and Silverstone.

“Starting in October, we will undertake a comprehensive renovation of the circuit, which includes work on the track, pits, paddock and safety zones, incorporating the latest technology. With this investment in infrastructure, security, logistics, and connectivity, we will bring the venue up to international standards. Bringing MotoGP to the city means the arrival of an elite competition, with the most important international teams and riders, which will be enjoyed by around 150,000 people at the track and millions of viewers via television and streaming in more than 200 territories.”

Orly Terranova, CEO of Grupo OSD: “What does it mean for Argentina to have MotoGP at the Gálvez circuit from 2027? It’s an important step for the city of Buenos Aires. An event has emerged for one of the most important motorsports, which will greatly contribute to the development of local sport and a lot of tourism. This is something that several capital cities in different countries are vying for, so I think it’s important. And it will have a huge impact economically, and on tourism.”

Carmelo Ezpeleta, CEO of MotoGP rights holder Dorna Sports: “This is exciting news for MotoGP, and for fans in Argentina and Latin America. It’s a great venue and puts us close to the heart of Buenos Aires, which will be a flagship location not only in terms of the country and continent, but globally too. The passion of the crowds we’ve seen at recent Grands Prix in Argentina, who come from far and wide, is legendary and we’re excited to let them know where we’ll see them again – and when – as we continue to work with Grupo OSD to bring the most exciting sport on Earth to Argentina.”
