Worldssp: Bendneyder Back On Form To Take Superpole HonoursWorldSSP: An early red flag punctuated the Supersport Superpole session.

After a difficult run of recent rounds Bo Bendsneyder (MV Agusta Reparto Corse) claimed his first pole position since the opening round of the year in Australia. The Dutchman topped the times by three tenths of a second.

Can Oncu (Yamaha BLU CRU Evan Bros Team) ended the session second fastest. The Turkish rider was the fastest rider of all in Sector 2 but needed to be at his best to qualify on the front row of the grid because he struggled at times throughout the session.

Jaume Masia (Orelac Racing Verdnatura) was third fastest while Oli Bayliss (PTR Triumph Factory Racing) made it four different manufacturers in the top four positions. The Australian timed his fastest lap well to be behind Bendsneyder on track and his reward was his career best Superpole performance.

Championship leader, Stefano Manzi (Pata Yamaha Ten Kate Racing) qualified on second row while Tom Booth-Amos, third in the standings, will have work to do tomorrow for the PTR Triumph Factory Racing team as he set the 18th fastest time.

P1 – Bo Bensneyder (MV Agusta Reparto Corse)
“There have been some difficult rounds before this one. I’m really happy to be back at the front. We tested here a few weeks ago and that definitely helped . It also seems like the MV works quite well on this layout. Of course, we know the others are fast too but we’re in the mix. The start will be tricky; we know we usually struggle a bit with the MV. Hopefully we don’t lose too many positions but our race pace is strong and we worked on used tyres this morning. Let’s see if we can catch them in the final part of the race.”
