Suzuka 8 Hours: More permanent teams than ever before* will contest Japan’s round of the FIM Endurance World Championship next month.
Fifteen EWC teams have signed up for the 46th Coca-Cola Suzuka 8 Hours Endurance Race, which represents an increase of four compared to 2024 and is the highest number since the 2018-19 season when 13 permanent outfits entered the legendary Japanese event.
Of the 15 permanent teams heading to Japan, six will chase Dunlop-equipped Superstock category success, double the number that lined up in 2024 when the Suzuka 8 Hours was included on the FIM Endurance World Cup schedule for the first time.
They are among a 55-strong overall entry for the event – the largest since 64 motorcycles assembled in 2019 – which dwarfs the 2024 figure of 46.
Confirmation of the high turnout for the 46th Coca-Cola Suzuka 8 Hours Endurance Race continues a trend of increasing entry numbers for EWC events in 2025. The season-opening 24 Heures Motos at Le Mans attracted 53 registrations compared to 48 in 2024, while 44 teams entered the 8 Hours of Spa Motos last month after 37 did so the previous year.
Jean-Baptiste Ley, Motorsport Events Director at Warner Bros. Discovery (WBD) Sports, promoter of the EWC, said: “The entry list for the Suzuka 8 Hours not only demonstrates the popularity of this iconic race, it also underlines the phenomenal interest in the EWC, which continues to go from strength to strength with more and more riders and teams taking on the intense challenge of endurance racing. The fact 15 permanent EWC teams – the highest number since WBD Sports became EWC promoter in 2015 – will travel from Europe to compete just shows the strong commitment and desire to go up against Japan’s best. Add to the mix star riders from MotoGP and World Superbike and it’s clear all the ingredients are in place for an epic 46th edition of one international motorcycle racing’s most prestigious events.”

Leading lights from MotoGP and World Superbike will take on top FIM Endurance World Championship and All Japan Road Race Championship in the 46th Coca-Cola Suzuka 8 Hours Endurance Race.
