Kawasaki Z650RS all set for new season

Kawasaki Z650Rs All Set For New SeasonEvoking its legendary namesake machine from the mid 1970’s, the Kawasaki Z650RS has now been confirmed as part of the 2027 Kawasaki road bike range.

With a lightweight trellis frame and 649cc Parallel Twin engine, the Z650RS is as quick and nimble as its Z Supernaked mid-capacity sibling. Being a retro sport model though, the overall stance is less forward-leaning, with a more upright riding position delivering light, natural handling.

The retro-style fuel tank design evokes iconic machine of the past yet is narrow between the knees, contributing to a slim ergonomic package while the horizontal tail adds a theme completed by classic body side covers and exquisite badging details.

For sure the European A2 licence compliant Z650RS has all the show but this is matched ably by go with the parallel-twin engine offering smooth, linear response, and strong low-mid range performance matched to favourable fuel economy. Kawasaki’s KTRC two stage traction control comes as standard (one mode on A2 version).

Chassis responsiveness is due in large part to a trellis frame that weighs a mere 13.5 kg. Suspension settings are tuned for light, natural handling delivering predictable and balanced handling characteristics for all types of riders and experience levels along with a short 820mm reach from seat to ground. Even the wheels are a clever marriage of new and old featuring flat spokes designed to look like classic wire-spoked items.

The day-to-day riding view is enhanced via the classic appeal of the round LED headlight plus analogue-style speedometer and tachometer dials which are complemented by a multi-functional LCD screen, balancing retro-style looks with modern functionality.

To finish the Z650RS experience, a number of Kawasaki genuine accessories allow riders to personalise their machine including an alternative 20mm lower seat, crash protection items and embellishments such as a traditional grab rail plus a stunning full Akrapovic exhaust system. Add a range of exciting colour and graphic options and the Z650RS is ready and revving for a new season in 2027.

The Z650RS will be available from September in the below colours, costing £7,899:

  • EBONY / BEAD BRIGHT SILVER / NOBLE FRAME METALLIC RED
  • METALLIC OCEAN BLUE / BEAD BRIGHT SILVER / WHEEL GOLD-63J
