Lambretta UK has announced the arrival of the new J125, a lightweight premium scooter combining the marque’s signature Italian styling with a modern 125cc powertrain and a comprehensive specification aimed at today’s commuter and leisure rider.
Positioned within the competitive learner-friendly 125cc segment, the J125 is powered by a 124.6cc liquid-cooled, single-cylinder, four-valve DOHC engine, producing 12.2hp and 11.5Nm of torque while complying with the latest Euro 5+ emissions regulations. Power is delivered through a fully automatic transmission, offering straightforward operation for both new licence holders and experienced riders seeking practical urban transport.
The chassis features Lambretta’s distinctive double arm-link front suspension, paired with twin rear shock absorbers, providing a balance of ride comfort and stability. At 139kg (unladen), the J125 has been engineered for agile handling in urban environments while maintaining composure on longer rides.
Technology and rider assistance have also been updated, with the J125 equipped as standard with ABS braking, Traction Control System (TCS), Bluetooth smartphone connectivity, full LED lighting, alloy wheels and an electric start. A 780mm seat height has been selected to provide accessibility for a broad range of riders, while the 8-litre fuel tank supports extended riding between refuelling stops.
The J125 retains the unmistakable Lambretta design language, blending classic bodywork proportions with contemporary detailing and modern componentry. Buyers can choose from Grey, Red, White and Black finishes, each highlighting the scooter’s distinctive styling while reflecting Lambretta’s enduring Italian design heritage.
