FIM JuniorGP: The Spanish sensation kept up his good form as polesitters were decided across all four categories at MotorLand
Round 4 of the 2025 JuniorGP™ World Championship takes the paddock to MotorLand Aragon, where Saturday featured qualifying sessions across all four categories. Brian Uriarte (UAX SeventyTwo Artbox) claimed his third pole of the season in JuniorGP™, while Alberto Surra (Andifer American Racing) earned his first of the season in the Moto2™ European Championship. Carlos Cano (UAX SeventyTwo Artbox) secured his third pole in the European Talent Cup, and Archie Bob McDonald will start from the front in the Stock European Championship.
FIM JuniorGP
Brian Uriarte made it a hat-trick of poles in JuniorGP™. The Championship leader posted a 1:56.886 to beat Jesus Rios (Finetwork Mir Racing Team) and Rico Salmela (Estrella Galicia 0,0) to a head of the grid start.
The second row is led by Leonardo Zanni (Finetwork Mir Racing Team), with Casey O’Gorman (Estrella Galicia 0,0) and Marco Morelli (Gryd – Mlav Racing) in tow. Aragon will play host to two races in the JuniorGP™ category on Sunday, the first of which gets underway at 11:00 (UTC +2).
Moto2 European Championship
A late flyer saw Alberto Surra clinch pole position in Moto2™ ECh with a 1:51.324, narrowly ahead of teammate Xabi Zurutuza by just 0.035s. Milan Pawelec (AGR Team) lines up third, rounding out the front row.
The result marks continued momentum for Surra after his recent race win, and he’ll be looking to close the gap to Championship contenders Unai Orradre (Team Ciatti Boscoscuro) and Alberto Ferrandez (GV Racing Moto2), both of whom start from row two alongside Alessandro Morosi (Eagle-1).
Like JuniorGP™, Moto2™ ECh will feature two races on Sunday at MotorLand.
European Talent Cup
In the European Talent Cup, Carlos Cano secured his third pole position of the campaign in Aragon, with the reigning Champion posting a 2:01.080 in qualifying. The young Spaniard topped his qualifying group ahead of Fernando Bujosa (AC Racing Team), though it will be Alvaro Lucas (CFMoto Aspar Junior Team) who will start second as he topped his qualifying group, though he fell short of Cano’s time.
Kiandra Ramadhipa (Honda Asia Dream Racing Junior Team) will launch from the head of the second row, joined by Eneko Osorio (Frando Racing VHC Team) and Antoine Nativi (JEG Take Off GP) in fifth and sixth. Championship leader Alex Longarela (Snipers IGAXTeam) will start from P7.
Pivotal points are on offer then in the ETC, with just the one race on Sunday.
Stock European Championship
In the final qualifying session of the day Archie Bob McDonald took his first pole position of the season with a 1:54.456. The Australian edged out Iker Garcia (Yamaha GV Racing), while Jacopo Cretaro (SF Racing) secured the final front row spot.
Tibor Varga (IUM Motorsports SL), Alvaro Fuertes (Lodisna Team Torrento), and Ruben Romero (SF Racing) will start from the second row.
As always, the Stock race will close out Sunday’s action.
Saturday’s action is in the books and now attention is turning to Sunday with two JuniorGP races, two Moto2 races, one ETC race and one Stock race from MotorLand – with the action kicking off at 11:00 Local Time (UTC+2).
