LS2’s popular Explorer dual sport helmet now available with a Forged Carbon shell
LS2’s popular Explorer dual sport helmet is now available in Forged Carbon: an innovative shell construction that delivers high levels of strength without compromising on weight.
Originally developed by Lamborghini and Callaway Golf Company, forged carbon is made by mixing chopped fibres of carbon with resin and then pressing them into shape.
The multi-directional fibres deliver up to five times the strength of traditional woven carbon and increase impact resistance, all without adding weight: the Explorer is just 1,450 grams. It also creates a unique ‘marbled’ look.
Made for long and demanding days on and off the Tarmac, the Explorer’s shell comes in three outer sizes, ensuring the smallest, lightest possible fit across each size range.
The quick-release, scratch and UV resistant 3D optically correct visor gives a crystal-clear view across a wide aperture for excellent all-round vision. It is Pinlock® 70 MaxVision™ ready and an anti-fog insert is included as standard. There’s also a drop-down sun visor, for instant relief from glare.
The adjustable peak tames the wind on open roads and deflects debris off road. It can also be removed entirely, transforming the Explorer Forged Carbon into a cleaner sport-style helmet.
Dynamic flow-through ventilation draws fresh air in through intake ports at the chin and crown, routes it through internal channels in the EPS liner, and expels warm air via rear exhaust ports – keeping the rider cool and comfortable when the road or trail heats up.
Inside, the fully removable and washable liner uses hypoallergenic, breathable fabrics and laser-cut foam inserts that follow the natural contour of the head for a snug, comfortable fit from the first ride.
Multi-density EPS absorbs and disperses impact energy, and Emergency Release System cheek pads allow first responders to remove the helmet with minimal movement of the head and neck.
A Double D-Ring buckle and reinforced chin strap – anchored to the shell via LS2’s Metal Security Plate – give secure closure, while a visor button lock prevents inadvertent opening on the move.
The Explorer Forged Carbon is fully certified to the latest ECE 22.06 safety standard, and retails at just £299.99, in sizes XS–3XL.
