SW-Motech DUSC: light, robust and waterproof touring-ready hard luggage for Ducati’s adventure flagship.
SW-Motech has released a complete DUSC hard luggage adventure set tailored to the Ducati DesertX and DesertX Rally. Light, robust and fully waterproof, the new set bolts straight onto Ducati’s adventure flagship and delivers a generous 115 litres of secure storage, making it the perfect partner for serious adventure riding.
The set is built around three of SW-Motech’s DUSC hard cases: a 41-litre left-hand case, a 33-litre case on the right (sized to clear the Desert X’s exhaust), and a 41-litre top case. The asymmetric layout gives generous packing space without making the bike unwieldy in traffic or on the trail.
Each DUSC case is constructed from thermoformed, 3mm-thick ABS plastic shells reinforced with an aluminium frame, so they stand up to the rigours of adventure touring without adding unnecessary weight.
The cases are fully waterproof, with a co-locking closure system that secures both the lid and the case to its carrier in a single action. Integrated lashing points, carrying handles and scratch-protective inlays come as standard, and a keyed-alike lock set is included so that every case opens with the same key.
Mounting is handled by SW-Motech’s model-specific PRO Side Carrier and Adventure-Rack, both developed specifically for the DesertX and DesertX Rally. The PRO Side Carrier is made from 2.5mm-thick powder-coated steel, designed to sit tight to the bike for a clean, low-profile look.
It fits to the Ducati’s original mounting points and uses newly upgraded quick-release fasteners, so the carrier can be removed in seconds when the luggage isn’t needed. The Adventure-Rack is forged from 4mm-thick aluminium alloy, tested in the lab and off-road to handle tough trail conditions.
The complete adventure set includes everything required to fit the system to the Ducati: PRO Side Carriers and Adventure-Rack, full adapter kits, the lock set, lid limiters, mounting hardware and instructions. A handy SW-Motech multi-tool keychain — featuring a quick-release fastener key, hex keys and a bottle opener — is thrown in for good measure.
The SW-Motech DUSC Adventure Set for the Ducati DesertX (2022-) and DesertX Rally (2023-) retails at £1,379.99 including VAT. As with all SW-Motech products it is covered by a two-year warranty.
